أنواع المحركات واستخدامها اولا محركات تعمل بالبنزين وهذه المحركات تستخدم للسيارات التى صممت لتعمل على هذه المحركات ومنها احجام عديده وتصنع بحسب حجم السياره وقو الدفع المطلوبه لانواع السيارات ويكون منها محركات تعمل بعدد سلندرات محدده للاستخدام المناسب لحجم السياره واحجام المحركات وعدد السلندرات وهى محرك ذات ٣ سلندر ويستخدم للسيارات الصغير جدا ومحركات ذات ٤ سلندر ومحركات ٦ سلتدر ومحركات ٨ سلندر ومحركات ١٢ سلندر وهذا المحركات تناسب حجم السياره وقوه الدفع المطلوب العمل بها لهذه الاحجام من السيارات والتى تستخدم فى الركوب والسيارات التى تستخدم فى الخدمات البسيطه ثانيا محركات الديزل . وتختلف محركات الديزل فى انظمه التشغيل عن محركات البنزين . محركات الديزل تعتمد فى تشغيلها على درجه حراره اعلى ليعمل المحرك بكفائه ويحتاج ايضا الى انظمه التزييت والتبريد بشكل عام مثل جميع المحركات ومنها احجام كثيره بحسب الاستخدام والمركبات والمعدات
التى تعمل عليها هذه المحركات منها محركلت بقود دفع ٤ سلندر ومحركات بقوه ٦ سلندر ومحركات بقوه ٨ سلندر ومحركات بقوه ١٢ سلندر ومنها ١٦ سلندر و١٨ سلندر ومحركات بقوه ٢٤ سلندر وحسب استخدام هذه المحركات فى السيارات النقل الثقيل والمعدات الثقيله والسفن والات الرفع والحفر ثالثا المحركات التى تعمل بالغاز وهى لا تختلف كثيرفى عمله عن المحركات الاخرى حيث انها
تحتاج الى انظمه التزييت والتبريد ولكنها تختلف فى انظمه مضخات الوقود ولها انظمه خاصه تعمل بمنظم خاص بالغاز نظرا لان الغاز اخف واسرع كثيرا فى عمليه الاشتعال الداخلى لتوليد الحركه الميكانيكيه للمحرك لتوليد قوه الدفع المطلوبه وتستخدم هذه المحركات فى السيارات ومحركات توليد الطاقه الكهربائيه وغيرها من الاستخدامات الاخرى . ويمكن ايضا ان تعمر مغذيات الوقد بالغاز على محركات تعمل بالبنزين فى بعض السيارات وغيرها من المركبات الاخرى .

تكون محركات السفن ذات قدره عاليه وذلك لكونها تقطع مسافات طويله جدا فى البحار والمحيطات وتصل الى الاف الاميال البحريه ولان احمال هذه السفن تكون بالاف الاطنان تحتاح الى محركات كبيره تصل عدد السلندرات بها من ٢٤ سلندر او اكثر حسب حجم وعمل واحمال السفينه المناسب لقوه هذه المحركات والعديد من السفن يكون فيها محركين من المحركات كبيره الحجم وذات قدرات عاليه وذلك لتجنب حدوث اى اعطال فى احدى المحركات واثناء عمله فى البحر او المحيطات او حتى احمال ثقيله لمسافات طويله وهذه المحركات تعمل بالديزل ومؤهله للعمل على مصخات الهيدروليك التى تحتجها السفن فى الرافعات المثبته على ظهر هذه السفن لرفع الحاويات او المعدات اوالخزانات او ماتحتاجه هذه السفن فى رحلاتها وتنتج الكثير من الشركات العملاقه هذه المحركات حسب المواصفات للسفن والمواصفات البحريه والملوحه العاليه ودرجات الحراره العاليه وعمل صيانه دوريه لها اثناء عملها فى السفن ومنها المحركات البخارية التى تعمل فى بعض السفن والاكثر استخداما فى بعض الدول التى يكون بها جليد فى فصل الشتاء وذلك لتحمل هذه المحركات العمل المستمر وتوليد حركة ميكانيكية قوية تساعد على السير فى المناطق المتجمدة فى بعض المحيطات وتستخدم المحركات الكبيرة الحجم ايضا فى عمليات الجر للشباك فى سفن الصيد العملاقة التى تمتد رحلاتها فى المحيطات الى عدة اشهر
